Street Law Mini Project!
When law is lawless and civilians stand alone,
the hunted loose thier rights and the hunters have none to show. Push to shove creates hate not love, and with hate growing in size, the people are despised. But how can the people be despised, If the only thing that seperates us is hoodies and bleary eyes, compared to night-sticks and ties. Find, oh find a way to fight fate, cause the main thing that violence creates... is violence. As fist meets face, try to escape. Make one last push, no, you're just beating around the bush. As lit eyes start to fade, you'll learn lies dont aid. So stop and take a second, breath in the air, start to reckon, that you feel self aware. Realise the harm you cause, and see all your flaws, and own it all. |
Reflection:
In the street law project, we identified the legal and illegal ways police officers can interact with civillians. There are many different quirks and quacks of the law, many of which we dove into including search and seizure laws, how to go about a traffic infraction, and the laws that police are governed by. One of the most important parts of this project was learning our own rights as citizens when encountering police force.
I connected with the violence that I saw in this project. I know it sounds bad but it seems most relavent to the future. I feel like there has been a constantly accelerating punch-for-punch struggle between police and civillians. This has been demonstrate throughout the years, from the LA riots due to Rodney Kings beating, to the more current Ferguson rioting over the Micheal Brown shooting. To stop the violence between police and civilians, I urge all to be concious of each other, whatever you may think of someone remember they are still a someone.
